Our History:

Philippe Theberge founded Framing Experts in 2013 with a used zoom boom, and a loan from his Father, Michel, and pride of a job well done. In the years since, we’ve delivered framing for 800+ homes and dozens of commercial projects, ranging from compact starter units to custom homes, restaurants, banks, and 110 unit condominiums. Our work history spans Calgary, surrounding communities, and B.C.’s Columbia Valley.

What began as a single crew has grown into a team capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, consistently delivering quality workmanship, collaboration, and pride in the craft.

Innovation at FE has come with real risk: We took on a major equipment commitment before it was comfortable, and we embraced prefabricated panel systems when it meant changing habits in the field. Both decisions made us stronger—sharpening our planning, elevating safety and quality, and building hard won expertise we now bring to every job.

Craftsmanship, collaboration, mentorship, and respect for people still define us. They’re not just our history; they’re the platform for our next chapter—ready for bigger programs, tighter timelines, and new partnerships—without losing the discipline and pride that brought us here.

Our Future:

The next chapter at FE is about scaling our strengths with better systems, clearer planning, and tighter execution. Through the adoption of digital construction technologies, we will enhance how information flows through our projects—improving documentation, communication, and on site coordination so that decisions are clearer and issues resolve faster.

Up front, we’re investing in stronger pre construction practices to reduce uncertainty, improve layout accuracy, and give our clients greater predictability in their schedules. We’re also expanding our experience with panelized systems, working earlier with project designers, subtrades and suppliers to help streamline the design to installation path.

Philippe Quesnel - Theberge

Phil is a proud but humble framer, entrepreneur, father, and friend. He approaches each project with contagious enthusiasm, loyalty to his team, and dedication to a job well done.

Born in Quebec, Phil began his framing career in 2008 at his father’s company, Rubico Framing Co., at just 17 years old. He worked on sites across Alberta, and the province quickly became home. The framing trade was an instant fit — he rose quickly to lead hand, known for his speed, precision, and people first approach.

In 2014, Phil started Framing Experts with the support of his family, friends, and coworkers. Over the years he has grown the company into a respected, tight knit team known for quality workmanship, collaboration, and pride in the craft.

In his free time you will find Phil near a hockey rink or the lakes, rivers and mountains, often cheering on his 2 kids. And every now and then, the open road calls for a motorbike trip.
